The Kite Runner (Written task)

Rationale

I wrote a blog entry titled “Now I Know…” that’s write by Amir explaining why he ran away when Hassan was getting raped, because I wanted to give some explanation to the people that thought that Amir was a bad friend in the first place.

This Blog entry is straightly connected to the novel showing a “behind the scenes” an some of the future years in Sohrab, Amir and Soraya’s lives.

This text is about why Amir didn’t interrupt Hassan’s rape expressed in a Blog entry that helps to understand Amir’s dealing including the things that my have happened if Amir had interrupted and helped Hassan. This text is targeted to the people that read the book and want to know more about the story using informal and formal types of language. Helping to connect some part of the story that are little confusing.

Now I Know…
July 3rd 2002 03:45AM

I was a coward, till today I didn’t know why I didn’t do anything when Assef raped Hassan for not giving him the kite that we won in the tournament, that he won for me, I just wanted Baba’s love, that was all, I just didn’t know he always gave me all his love.

When Hassan was getting raped I didn’t realize what was going on, but I wanted to stop that, I was scared of dishonoring Baba in a fight but at the same time I wanted to go there and help my best friend, my brother, my half brother. Now I know that Assef would not have been so brutal with me, but no, I wanted to impress Baba with a simple kite instead of saving my best friend and dealing with the thought of why I could have done to help Hassan.

I am writing this blog entry at this time of the night because I was having a dream of that moment, it was not like other dreams that looked exactly like like the moment of Hassan’s rape, the same feelings but this time was from a different perspective, it was the same back alley, the same position of the elements involved in that place, but this time I was in Hassan’s body an Hassan was in mine. The firs time I dreamed of this, Hassan did the same thing that I did to him, but the second time that I had the same dream Hassan saved me but Assef and his crew started hitting and kicking us in the floor but Hassan suffered more, because Assef wanted to hit me…

I woke up and started writing these two dreams in a pies of paper and then to this Blog. Now I will spend all my time that I can with Sohrab thinking that i a part of Hassan, I will try to protect him and give him all the things that he will possibly need to start again.

The other day I listened to Sohrab’s voice for the first time since he tried to commit suicide and go to Allah’s gardens with Hassan and Farzana, he was talking alone in his room saying “I will make you proud Father”.

I was shocked when he said that, so I entered his room and I hugged him so happily, it was like listening to Hassan again, so I said, you will always make him proud,he has always been proud of you.

Tomorrow I will go to walk with Sohrab and Soraya and thwart we will tell all the things that happened with Hassan in Kabul. I wish that Hassan was here, but I, as a kid, was stupid and instead of helping him to start again I kicked him out of my life.

I will say to the people that  read “The Kite Runner” that as a child I just wanted to make Baba Happy, forgetting of the other people that was around me, so when I acted like that in the back alley it was only for Baba’s love, but at the end I made a hole in Baba’s strong heart.

Sohrab is here listening quietly to my key strokes trying to understand why I am here writing this, maybe he will red this blog one of this days and he will understand why Hassan said to me “For you a thousand times over”.

The Kite Runner Review

Action, friendship, bulling and forgiveness are the themes that Khalid Hosseini talks about in his book called “The Kite Runner”.

This book is about the friendship and forgiveness of to friends of different cultures that are in conflict.  In this awesome book you can experience the life of Amir and Hassan, a rich boy and his servant, these two boys had a good friendship till Assef and his friends convince Amir to treat Hassan as a servant, because Pashtuns can treat a Hazara like a friend, so he started being cruel with his friend and it will make Amir change for all his life, but that is not all, the story have some graphic content when Assef bullies Hassan.

In conclusion this book brings together all the feelings of Amir since he started bulling Hassan and the thought about his dead mother, so when the best friend of his father says to him that he can steel be good, all de story changes trying to be good again. So for this book I will give five stars out of 10, because it could be more, having a grate story but a bad continuity, repeating the majority of the themes to much, so the book starts to become boring till the theme changes.

So I recommend to read this book if you want to know why and how are the cultural conflicts in Afghanistan happening, but if you want to read a book because it haves a very good story that is changing the themes all the time, I recommend to reed another.

Point 1: "Video games don't make kids violent"
Point 2:

Point 3: I have learnt taht the people think diferent about this topic, but the most part think that video games make kids violent.
Point 4: "More recent research has not found that children who play VVO (Violent Video Games) are more violent that other kids, nor harmed in any other identifiable fashion" Link.
Point 5: "Violent video games show kids how to express themselves physically in a violent way. It's already way easier for a child to push another child when they're angry than to express their emotions and resolve a conflict thought words" Link.
Point 6: I think that video games don't make kids violent, but old people attribute the violent acts of kids and teens to the video games, because they don't find another reason that can cause these.
Point 7:   * Old people shows violence to kids.
                * We live in a violent world.
                * Old people attribute violence to games, but they are violent.

Letter of Complaint

November 20

Dear Mr Peterson,

I’m writing to inform that the TV programs that you show, aimed at children, have a lot of violence and they don’t have an educational purpose.

Some days ago I saw that all the kids were watching your TV programs, but I have noticed that the series were based on violence, these caused violent actions of the kids when they tried to imitate the actions of the “heroes” of the show.

These errors that you have made are changing the children, especially my brother, who is acting like a real commando, so he is turning his personality into a commando. That brings us a problem, because he is starting to buy toy guns and shoot people with those things, so I’m scared of the damage that this can have in the future.

I am writing to ask if you can change the time of transmitting those programs, or if you can delete the show of the channel, to avoid the violence on children. If you don't make dis changes I will be forced to delete my subscription to your channel and also I will send a mail to the ESRB to complain of the violent acts that you can find in your show.

I will be waiting for your reply.

Yours sincerely,

C. Kohler

The Art of Tattoo

To paint your body or to have a tattoo can have many meanings, because you can have a tattoo that has a meaning for you or you culture or you can have a tattoo that is a requirement to enter in a crew, group or culture.

Tattoos are a type of art that you "print" in your body, you can have this art in you if you take the decision of having it for the rest of your life. If you take the decision of having a tattoo you will have to think if it has a meaning for you or not, because if you have a superficial tattoo you can get bored easily of it. Also some groups of people think that tattooing is an debauchery.

Also you have to deal with the discrimination of the people in the street. That group of people feel scared when a tattooed person is near, because they think that those people can act in a bad way.
